Zarzana, O.D.
Dr. Joelle Zarzana grew up in the Sonoma Valley
and attended high school at Justin Siena in Napa, where she was an
honors student and active in sports and theater.
She received her bachelors degree in Biological Sciences
with an emphasis in Neurobiology, while pre-med, from the
University of California, Davis.
She then attended U.C. Berkeley, where she received a
second bachelors degree in Vision Science, while earning her
doctorate in optometry in 2004.
Dr. Zarzana performed vision screening on
students (K-12) for Alameda and Contra Costa County.
She was a managing optometrist for EyExam, where she was
nominated for “2005 Managing Doctor of the Year.”
Dr. Zarzana was active in local volunteer work, partnering
with charitable organizations to provide free eye exams to those
in need.
She is a third generation Italian-American, with
extensive family throughout Italy.
As a result, she loves traveling and is currently learning
Italian. She also
enjoys musical theater, health and fitness.
